Altegris, a provider of alternative investments, has named Jack L Rivkin as chief investment officer.
Rivkin will oversee the firm's research and investments group and will be a member of the Altegris investment committee.
He will also have overall responsibility for identifying, selecting and monitoring fund managers across multiple investment disciplines and will oversee asset allocation and research for Altegris products. He will be a key representative of Altegris in the investment community.
Rivkin has held senior roles in the investment industry with Neuberger Berman, Citigroup Investments, and PaineWebber, among others. His managerial achievements have been featured in

Gaw Capital Partners USA has appointed Ashish Gupta as senior vice president for acquisitions.
Gupta (pictured) will be based in the soon-to-be opened New York City office and is responsible for US investments for the firm, with a focus on projects located on the east coast and other select knowledge- and innovation-based markets such as Austin, Texas.
Most recently, Gupta was a senior vice president at Lehman Brothers where he was responsible for overseeing the restructuring, asset management and monetisation of a portfolio of debt and equity positions collateralised by approximately 30 million square feet of office space across several major US markets. Trevor Falle, who for many years was chief executive of FirstRand’s offshore operations, which incorporates both Ashburton in Jersey and FNB International Trustees in Guernsey, has joined JTC Group as a group director.
Falle has 35 years’ financial services industry experience in the Channel Islands, London and the US and spent many years at Ashburton where he was the managing director from 2001 to 2007, a period of significant expansion for the Jersey based investment management group.

Moore Group has appointed new heads of Europe and Asia to focus its services regionally.
Jon Trigg has been promoted to European head of fund services and Jean-Francois Minier Asia head of fund services.
Trigg’s promotion comes six months after the private equity specialist joined Moore as a director. In his new role he will be responsible for developing Moore’s fund services capability in Europe. Syntaxis Capital, a provider of mezzanine finance in Central Europe, has boosted its responsible investment credentials with the appointment of Rupert Coull, an expert in environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles.
Coull will take on central responsibility for all elements of the firm’s ESG policy, as Syntaxis furthers its commitment to responsible investment.

Revere Capital Advisors, the New York and London-based boutique financial services firm, has formed Revere Merchant Capital (RMC), a new merchant banking group.


Revere has recruited externally to assemble a senior team which is comprised of Albert G Pastino, executive vice chairman, responsible for the strategic direction of RMC; Colby W Collier, president, and responsible for the overall operation of the firm; and William H Haemmerle who joins as managing director and is responsible for M&A advisory, capital formation and all other investment banking services.


RMC will lead and co-invest in equity and debt financings in connection with change
Harry Green has joined Houlihan Lokey’s illiquid financial asset (IFA) practice as a director with a primary focus on transaction execution.
Green is based in New York, reporting to Jeff Hammer and Paul Sanabria, co-heads of IFA.
Green previously worked in the specialty finance and private portfolio group at Plainfield Asset Management, where he actively managed the specialty finance portfolio and ultimately was responsible for liquidation of these and other illiquid assets under the firm's management. For most of the prior decade he worked in private equity, most notably for six years at Doughty Hanson & Co.
