Waller Capital Partners has opened an office in San Francisco in support of the firm’s continued growth in the technology industry.
As part of this expansion, Waller Capital has also appointed Richard Juarez as a managing director to lead coverage in the cloud services and SaaS sectors.
Juarez has more than 16 years of investment banking experience, including a long career at Robertson Stephens & Co, and most recently as co-head of technology at Morgan Joseph TriArtisan. BDO has appointed Susan Walker as a senior director within the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) team based in London.
Walker has specialist experience in plc advisory and capital markets, and will help to enhance and develop this side of the M&A practice.

Thomas von Koch has been appointed as the new managing partner at private equity group EQT.
Founder Conni Jonsson, who has served as managing partner since the inception of EQT back in 1994 will, in his role as working chairman of EQT Holdings AB, continue to work full time for EQT and focus on investment advisory activities and increased interaction with EQT investors.
Both von Koch (pictured) and Jonsson will be members of all relevant EQT investment advisory related committees and portfolio company review committees.

Alternative assets law firm MJ Hudson has appointed two senior M&A/venture capital lawyers – Karma Samdup and Graham Nicholson.


Samdup, previously of CMS Cameron McKenna, joins as a partner of the firm to lead the venture practice.
Samdup brings to the firm his strong reputation for advising start-ups and high-growth companies, as well as angels and VCs in the technology and life sciences sectors.Samdup also has extensive experience of advising corporate and management teams on public and private M&A, private equity and venture capital transactions and joint ventures.

Garth T Troxell has joined Summer Street Capital, a Buffalo, New York-based private equity fund, as a partner.
Troxell will be actively engaged in all aspects of Summer Street's investment activities and portfolio management, and will lead Summer Street's investor relations efforts.
Troxell has a diverse experience base spanning consulting, private equity, and investment banking. Prior to joining Summer Street, he served as a consultant to investment banking and private equity clients. From 2002 to 2012, he was with Altius Associates, the private equity consulting and fund of funds firm, most recently as a partner and executive director.
Pan-European mid-market private equity firm Stirling Square Capital Partners has appointed Jonathan Heathcote as a partner and Matteo Nichil as an executive to the firm.
Heathcote joins from Palamon Capital Partners where he was one of six partners responsible for the origination, execution and management of European mid-market investments, primarily in Spain, Germany and the UK.

Wealthcare, a provider of goals-based wealth management technology and advisory services, will run as a standalone company out of its existing headquarters in Richmond, Virginia.
In its partnership with NewSpring, Wealthcare will retain its core group of employees dedicated to advisor relations, its operating and service structure, and its goals-based financial planning and wealth management services for advisors and their clients.

CDC Group, the UK’s development finance institution, has appointed Mark Eckstein as director, environmental and social responsibility.
Eckstein will oversee a team that seeks to improve environmental and social standards across CDC’s portfolio of investments.
CDC’s more than 1,200 investments span 80 countries and include fund investments, debt investments and direct equity investments.
Most recently Eckstein was managing director of World Wildlife Fund US’s sustainable finance programme, and has spent much of his career focusing on the role that financial institutions can play in enabling more responsible and sustainable development.
