PwC is increasing its capabilities to advise businesses on raising capital and re-finance existing loans with the appointment of one of the industry’s leading figures.
Nick Atkinson, who starts as a partner in the firm today (20 June), is heading up an expanded business unit, which will advise on capital structuring options for mid-sized and large businesses. PwC is also making two further partner hires into the group with John Williams and David Godbee both joining the firm today. EFAMA, the European Fund and Asset Management Association, has elected Claude Kremer as its President for a two-year term. The election of the new EFAMA head took place in Lucerne during the association’s Annual General Meeting.
The representatives of the European investment management industry also appointed two Vice-Presidents, Mr Christian Dargnat and Mr Massimo Tosato. It is the first time that EFAMA has elected two Vice Presidents, reflecting its commitment to engaging with the industry regulatory and operating environment.
The new President, Mr Kremer, has already served as Vice-President and will succeed Jean-Baptiste de Franssu who served for two years. Kremer
Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP, a leading international law firm, announced that Garrett Hayes (pictured) has joined the London office of international law firm Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, enhancing the firm’s M&A and private equity practice in London. Garrett joins the firm from Macfarlanes where he has been a partner since 2005.
Haye’s expertise covers a broad range of general corporate work, M&A and private equity and in particular he has acted for private equity sponsors and portfolio companies on leveraged buyouts, restructurings and auction sale processes. He has also advised management on a number of high profile transactions.
Alternative Investment Group, a fund of hedge funds that invests primarily in long/short equity strategies, has appointed Michael J Tansley as Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately.
Tansley will be based in Alternative Investment Group’s Southport, CT office and will oversee the firm’s accounting, audit, tax, internal controls, information management, and administrative operations.

The Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI) has announced the election of the new president, Marc Saluzzi, who takes up the rolls, which will run for two years, with immediate effect.
Saluzzi has been on the board of Alfi since 2001. He later joined the Strategic Advisory Committee and in 2009 he became Chairman of the ALFI Alternatives Committee.
Saluzzi brings over 25 years experience in the Investment Management Industry in Luxembourg and in the US. e is French and graduated from the Institut Superieur de Gestion in Paris in 1986. He then joined PricewaterhouseCoopers and became a
SL Capital Partners (“SL Capital”) has promoted Graeme Dunbar’s to Investment Director within the SL Capital investment team in Edinburgh.
In his new role, Dunbar will be responsible for the SL Capital investment teams primary fund investments, secondary investments and direct co-investments, with a particular focus on the Nordic Region.

Profit Recovery Partners (PRP) Executive Vice President Bill Carpou is departing the firm to accept a position with RGIS, a private equity-owned firm.

Madison International Realty, a real estate private equity firm, has appointed Todd D Silverman as Managing Director of Equity Capital Markets. n his new position, Silverman will continue to develop and execute Madison’s successful fund-raising strategy and serve as liaison with the investor community.
Silverman joins Madison after a six-year tenure with Tishman Speyer, where he most recently held the position of Managing Director and Head of Global Business Development and Global Leasing, and Relationship Manager for Equity Capital Markets. He previously served as Director of New York Leasing and as an Associate for New York Acquisitions and Asset Management.
Silverfleet Capital, the European mid-market private equity firm that specialises in buy & build, has expanded its Paris team with the addition of two new members with the appointment of Alexandre Lefebvre and Cyril Bourdarot.
Lefebvre will become a partner of Silverfleet Capital and co-head the Paris office alongside Maïré Deslandes, who has been at Silverfleet Capital for 11 years and a Partner since 2007.
