RBC Dexia Investor Services has appointed Sébastien Danloy as Managing Director for Luxembourg. This appointment will be effective on 2 May, 2011 and is subject to regulatory approval.
As a leading fund distribution centre, Luxembourg is central to RBC Dexia’s success in Europe. In his role as Managing Director, Luxembourg, Danloy will be responsible for building the business by focusing on market strategy, strategic client management and effective engagement with local industry, government and regulatory bodies. Danloy will report functionally to Tony Johnson, Global Head, Sales & Distribution.

A solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales, Bathgate graduated from Christ Church, Oxford, with a first class degree in Law and German Law in 2002, and completed the LPC at Nottingham Law School in 2003. He was admitted as an Attorney of the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands in 2010.

Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co (KKR) has appointed Richard Sarnoff (pictured) as a Senior Advisor to the Firm. Sarnoff joins KKR from Bertelsmann AG, where he was Co-Chairman of Bertelsmann Inc, the US holding company, and President of Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments (BDMI).
Sarnoff will work closely with the KKR team to identify and pursue new investments, particularly in the media sector, while also supporting existing portfolio companies. He will become a member of the board of directors of BMG Rights Management, a joint venture between KKR and Bertelsmann AG, and become a Senior Advisor and serve on the board
Private equity fund services provider Ipes has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of funds industry heavy-weights Andrew Whittaker (pictured) and Nigel Strachan.
Andrew Whittaker joins Ipes’ UK operation, which opened in 2005 and comprises over 20 staff, as Managing Director. He will be responsible for growing the business, with a particular focus on building the outsourcing practice. Andrew has extensive experience of onshore / offshore vehicles, open and closed and traditional and alternative funds. Prior to joining Ipes he was Managing Director for Capita Financial Group’s Specialist Fund Services division. Andrew also serves on the AIC Technical Committee
Private equity firm TA Associates has announced global promotions of six staff members, effective January 1, 2011.

Robert Klap has joined Platinum Equity as a principal based in London, where he will assist the firm’s investor relations, capital raising and deal origination programs.
Most recently, Klap was an executive at UBS in London, responsible for managing private equity fund investments in the bank’s wealth management group. Previously, he was a private equity portfolio manager at Shell Asset Management Company and a fund manager at Mn Services, each of which are institutional investors in Platinum’s private equity funds.

Mid-market private equity firm Phoenix Equity Partners has appointed Jim Graham as Operating Partner, and Edward Lunken as Origination Analyst.
Graham joins Phoenix from Candover, where he spent three years as Operating Partner. Previously, he was the commercial/marketing manager at the GBP1bn pre-pay business unit at Orange. He has an MBA and worked as a consultant with Accenture.
Lunken joins Phoenix from LEK Consulting, where he worked for three years as a strategy consultant. Prior to this, he held a research position within the European Commission, and was an intern at Ogilvy and Mather.
