In this role, Rode will be responsible for leading a team of professionals that help Hewitt EnnisKnupp’s clients build global private equity programmes. Peter Moffatt, Guernsey Financial Services Commission
The post of director of investment business at the Guernsey Financial Services Commission will be advertised locally and in the Financial Times this week. Peter Moffatt (pictured), the current director who joined the Commission in 2000, will retire from the role early next year. Nik van Leuven, the director general of the GFSC, says: “I have known Peter since he joined the Commission. He brought to the role of director his own inimitable style, reinforced by a keen intellect and challenging approach. The high respect with which the funds sector is held externally owes much to his thought and care.”
Bertram Capital, a private equity firm headquartered in California, has promoted Tom Beerle, Jeff Giles and Tim Heston to vice president. The promotions follow the closing of Bertram Capital’s second fund, Bertram Growth Capital II, with USD500m in limited partner commitments. UK private equity firm Sovereign Capital has hired Luke Kingston, Jonathan Marlow, Jonathan Kay, Ross Coull and Elizabeth Buckle. Kingston joins Sovereign’s deal team from Ernst & Young. He has significant buy-side advice experience having completed numerous transactions with a variety of private equity houses. Michel Davy has been appointed as managing director for Ipes in Guernsey.  The appointment, which is an internal promotion, was approved by the GFSC earlier this month. Davy will spearhead the development of the Guernsey business, overseeing key client relationships and taking a lead role in building relationships with the professional community.  He will work closely with group chief executive Kevin Brennan. “As Ipes has grown here in Guernsey and expanded into other jurisdictions, we now have a requirement for someone at a senior level to head up our Guernsey business,” says Brennan. “Michel’s experience on the operational side of

Greylock Partners, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm, has appointed entrepreneur and former Skype chief executive officer Josh Silverman to the position of executive in residence. Prior to joining Greylock, Silverman was the chief executive officer of Skype. Previously he was the chief executive officer of Shopping.com, part of eBay. Before Shopping.com, Silverman led the development of eBay’s EU classifieds business.
