Susan Clark has joined Heritage International Fund Managers as head of fund administration, responsible for the delivery of the company’s fund administration services as well as coordinating growth overseas. Clark has nearly 30 years’ experience working in the funds industry, most recently as head of funds services and executive director for fund administration at BNP Paribas Securities Services in Jersey where she worked for 16 years throughout various acquisitions. GMT Communications Partners, a private equity investor focused on the communications sector in Europe, has appointed Bernard Gray to the GMT Industry Council, a network of media industry experts who provide market perspective on the communications industry. Gray was recently appointed chairman of Magicalia, the digital cross media publisher and platform provider, and Group GTI, a graduate recruitment business.  He was previously chairman of TSL Education, the educational publisher. Credit Suisse has appointed Andy Stewart to the asset management division as managing director and head of the liquid alternatives business, effective 1 December 2010. Stewart joins Credit Suisse Asset Management from Man Investments, where he was president and chief operating officer in the US, responsible for business management and overall supervision of the firm’s activities in the US market.  He was also global head of managed accounts, charged with oversight of Man’s managed account initiatives globally.  In his new role at Credit Suisse, Stewart will be responsible for further developing and expanding the liquid alternatives business – which includes
Emerging Capital Partners, a private equity group focused on Africa, has appointed former World Bank executive Marie-France Mathes as managing director and head of investor relations.  Mathes will lead efforts to strengthen communications with ECP limited partners. Cowen Group has hired Amrit Agrawal as a managing director in the global capital markets group. Agrawal will be primarily responsible for advising corporate clients on financing solutions across the capital structure, including on acquisition finance. Agrawal will also assist clients with private debt placements, exchange offers, consent solicitations and tender offers. Bertram Capital, a private equity firm headquartered in California, has promoted Ryan Craig and Stephanie Ho to principal. Craig leads the firm’s investment in One Distribution (Supra Footwear and KR3W Apparel) and also serves as a director with Bertram general partner Ken Drazan on the firm’s investment in Genascis. Craig joined Bertram Capital in 2006 and is a founding member of the firm’s investment team, focusing on deal execution and portfolio company management in the healthcare and consumer sectors. iNovia Capital, an early stage venture capital fund manager, has appointed angel investor Geoff Judge and entrepreneur investor Kevin Swan as partner and principal, respectively. Ambit Capital has appointed Saurabh Mukherjea as head of equities at the managing director level, strengthening its institutional equities business. Mukherjea will join Ambit after completing his gardening leave, which he is currently serving.
