Atlantic-Pacific Capital, a placement agent and advisory firm, has appointed John Crocker as a partner in its private funds business.
As part of Atlantic-Pacific’s global distribution team, Crocker will focus on marketing private equity, real estate and infrastructure funds in Australia and New Zealand.
Additionally, Crocker will assist in originating and executing due diligence on new mandates for Atlantic-Pacific worldwide.

Axa Private Equity has appointed Benoit Verbrugghe as senior managing director, head of the New York office.
Verbrugghe will be responsible for helping to further expand Axa Private Equity’s business in North America.
Previously, Verbrugghe was a managing director based in Axa Private Equity’s Paris office where, as part of the fund of funds team, he played an active role in developing the firm’s business around the world, including North America.
In his new position, Verbrugghe has relocated to New York and will focus on North America, where Axa Private Equity has achieved growth in the last several months.

Law firm Dechert has hired James Waddington in London as a partner.
Prior to joining Dechert, Waddington was a partner at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe.
Waddington advises commercial and investment banks and private equity and hedge fund clients in connection with finance and derivative transactions, credit default swaps, lending and borrowing arrangements, debt and equity offerings, insolvency and restructuring matters as well as fund formation and fund investments.

Venture capital firm Energy Ventures has strengthened its international oil and gas team with two appointments.
Shantanu Agarwal joins the Aberdeen-based team as an associate while Kristian Lier will be based in Houston as investment manager.
Agarwal joins Energy Ventures from Schlumberger when he held different positions, including business development manager, engineer in charge of well construction services and offshore and lead engineer.
Lier is a former head of DnB NOR Markets’ corporate finance group where he focused on energy transactions. Prior to that he was founding partner of management consulting firm Bangstad and an equity research analyst
Evolution Group, a UK investment bank, has appointed Steve Bartlett as head of private company and private equity coverage.
Bartlett will be responsible for leading Evolution’s growing focus on private companies and the private equity market.
He will report to Garry Levin, Evolution’s newly appointed head of the corporate finance division.
Bartlett has 20 years’ experience as an adviser, focusing on private company M&A and private equity. Most recently, he operated his own advisory practice. Prior to that, Bartlett spent five years in the London corporate finance team of BDO where he was a partner. Before that, he worked
Financial services firm Perella Weinberg Partners has named Jeffrey Silverman a partner of the firm, effective immediately.
Silverman will join the senior management team of the firm’s asset management business and will be based in New York.

Growth equity firm General Atlantic has appointed John Arlotta, former chairman and chief executive of Coram and NeighborCare, as a special adviser.
Arlotta will support General Atlantic’s approach to partnering with growth companies in the healthcare sector.
Arlotta joins General Atlantic’s network of healthcare-focused current and former special advisers, which includes Dr. Mark McClellan, former administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services; Brent Saunders, formerly of Schering Plough and now chief executive of Bausch & Lomb; and Tracy Bahl, former chief executive of Uniprise and the current executive chairman of Emdeon.

Clydesdale Bank has expanded its corporate and structured finance team in London and the South with five senior appointments.
Tony Tozzi, Ian George and Marcos Theodosiou have joined as directors while Mike Budge and Jonny Baxandall have been appointed as associate directors.
Tozzi, who will lead the team’s push into technology, media and telecoms in the region, joins from Bank of Ireland. He started his career at Barclays and has 30 years’ experience in banking and has specialised in TMT for the past 12 years.
