Perella Weinberg Partners has appointed Steven Asciutto as a partner in its corporate advisory group.
Based in New York, Asciutto will focus on providing strategic and financial advice to investment managers and alternative asset managers.
Asciutto has nearly 15 years of investment banking experience. He was most recently a managing director in the financial institutions group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, focusing on investment managers and alternative asset management firms.
Prior to that, Asciutto spent ten years at Morgan Stanley in its financial institutions group, where he served as head of the investment management advisory group.

The Capital Network, a Boston-based non-profit organisation providing entrepreneurs with education and community on the early-stage funding process, has promoted Michelle Hipwood to executive director and added Yumin Choi to the board of directors.
Hipwood joined TCN 18 months ago during a rebuilding and rebranding process that has seen the organisation grow from ten programmes per year to 40-plus programmes per year spread across six programme lines.

Amati Global Investors, the newly formed investment manager, has appointed James Ferguson as chairman.
Ferguson is currently chairman of Value and Income Trust, Monks Investment Trust, The Scottish Oriental Smaller Companies Trust and Northern 3 VCT.
He also serves as a director of The Independent Investment Trust and Audax Properties and a trustee of Lloyds TSB Foundation.
He is the former chairman of Stewart Ivory and former deputy chairman of the Association of Investment Trust Companies.

DW Healthcare Partners, a healthcare focused private equity firm, has appointed William Tella, former president of Curative Specialty Pharmacy, to its executive in residence programme.
The executive in residence programme engages veteran corporate-level executives to run and consult with the firm’s portfolio companies.

Law firm Eversheds has appointed partner Richard Moulton as head of private equity.
Moulton will have responsibility for leading the firm’s private equity group, overseeing a team working with clients on investments to exits.
Moulton has over 15 years’ experience in the private equity sector, and has been at Eversheds since 2003.
Moulton works with clients such as ECI Partners, Inflexion, CBPE Capital, Gresham and Baird Capital Partners Europe.
Moulton takes over the role from private equity partner Mark Spinner, who has led the group for eight years. Whilst Spinner will continue to be actively involved in the private equity
Offshore law firm Appleby has appointed Christian Victory as an associate in its funds and investment services team.
Victory, who joined Appleby from William Fry in Dublin, transfers from the firm’s British Virgin Islands office where he advised clients on the formation, establishment and listing of mutual funds and hedge funds.
He also has experience in banking and finance, general lending, debt issuance and corporate and commercial law.
His arrival comes after six months of growth by the Cayman Islands funds team. Partner Richard Addlestone joined in January 2010 with over 16 years’ corporate, private equity and hedge funds experience
Evercore Partners has launched an equity research group and plans to initiate coverage of companies in the telecommunication, media and technology, and financial institutions industries during the third quarter.
The research group initially is comprised of ten analysts with expertise in the sectors they cover.
The research group will initially cover the following sectors: financial technology / IT services (analyst David Togut), large-cap banks (Andrew Marquardt), regional banks (John Pancari), specialty finance (Brad Ball), cable and satellite (Bryan Kraft), consumer internet (Kenneth Sena), media and entertainment (Alan Gould), networking equipment (Alkesh Shah), publishing (Douglas Arthur) and telecom (Jonathan Schildkraut).

Private capital veteran Karl Beinkampen has been named chief investment officer of Wilshire Private Markets.
Beinkampen joins Wilshire Associates from Morgan Stanley, where he was a managing director of the firm’s Alternative Investment Partners team.
In his new role, Beinkampen will guide the investment efforts of Wilshire Private Markets in order to best serve the portfolio needs of institutional investors. The group currently has five offices in the US, Europe, Asia and Australia, and manages nearly USD6bn of client assets, investing and serving clients within each of those regions.
