Odyssey Investment Partners has acquired L-com, a provider of wired and wireless connectivity products to original equipment manufacturers, system integrators and network installers.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Headquartered in North Andover, Massachusetts, L-com’s customers are typically design and network engineers who are responsible for specifying connectivity equipment into mission-critical applications. L-com offers over 10,000 SKUs across a broad range of product categories, including cable assemblies and connectors, wireless local area network access points, and associated RFID support products.
L-com has manufacturing and sales facilities in Suzhou, China, Boca Raton, Florida and North Andover, MA and its

Rusnano Capital, the Russian government-owned nanotechnology investment company, and international technology investment group I2BF Global Ventures have launched the I2BFRNC Strategic Resources Fund to invest in later stage nanotechnology companies.
The seven year fund launches with a USD53m commitment from its LPs with a target fund size of USD150m. Its remit will be to invest in international nanotechnology that has applications of value within the Russian Federation, with a focus on the resource sector as well as water and agriculture.

Access Group, a business software provider backed by Lyceum Capital, has acquired Delta Software in a GBP5.4m deal.
The acquisition is Access’ fifth since Lyceum Capital backed a GBP50m buyout of the group in March last year to support its long-term growth strategy.

Tullett Prebon, an inter-dealer broker, has hired Kishore Kansal, the founding partner and chief executive of PEFOX, to its alternative investments team in London as head of Tullett Prebon Private Equity Risk Solutions.

Portware, a provider of broker-neutral, multi-asset trading solutions, has completed its acquisition of the technology and analytical assets of Aritas Group.
The acquisition also includes a portfolio of 17 patents covering Aritas’ predictive analytics and algorithmic optimisation technology.
Aritas’ Alpha Pro and Algorithmic Switching Engine have been rebranded as Portware Alpha Vision, and are immediately available to all industry participants.
Offered in partnership with the brokerage community, Alpha Vision provides buy-side institutions with end-to-end workflow automation and commission optimisation tools, allowing clients to improve trading performance while maintaining and enhancing broker relationships.

The majority of investors in hedge funds, commodity trading advisors and private equity funds expect to increase their allocations to those private investments in 2012, according to a survey by AlphaMetrix.
A total of 65 per cent of investment managers and investors surveyed said they intend to increase their allocations to private investments by some degree this year, with 25 per cent of participants planning to raise their allocations significantly. Further, 35 per cent intend to leave their existing allocations unchanged.
