Spouting Rock Asset Management (Spouting Rock), a multi-boutique manager platform providing investment solutions and services, is to merge with Old Hill Partners Inc (Old Hill), an alternative asset manager focused on asset-based lending transactions with small- and medium-sized businesses. A newly formed subsidiary of Spouting Rock, Spouting Rock Alternative Credit, LLC (SR Alternative Credit), will house the Old Hill asset-based lending business and serve as the investment advisor to Old Hill’s existing funds and other investment vehicles.  The new subsidiary will be operated by former Old Hill employees, Jeff Haas and Peter Faigl as president and chief investment officer, respectively.
The Citco group of companies (Citco) has enhanced its Citco Data Services platform to enable clients to receive data directly via their own cloud provider. The cloud delivery feature removes a number of steps for clients wishing to access their data, speeding up the process significantly for users and putting them in control of their data. The upgrade means users of Citco Data Services – the group’s premium, web-based data integration and reporting platform – will now receive their data when and how they want via their own cloud providers. The enhancement is destination agnostic for clients using Citco Data
Myzone, a global manufacturer of wearable fitness tracking technology, has secured a USD17.2 million investment from BGF, the UK’s most active growth capital investor, alongside tech entrepreneur Vin Murria OBE, who also joins as Non-Executive Chair. Created in 2011 by fitness industry expert Dave Wright, Myzone has experienced impressive growth since inception and currently serves over 9,000 facilities in 84 different countries, boasting over two million shipped devices.     BGF invested more than GBP100 million in tech businesses in 2021 and announced seven successful exits in the sector this year. We previously looked at how alternative data sets, having become ubiquitous within the hedge fund industry, are of increasing interest in the private equity asset class as well. BGF has exited its investment in North West-headquartered NSS to Premier Technical Services Group (PTSG), delivering ‘excellent returns for all shareholders’. NSS is a specialist services provider, covering all aspects of external building maintenance â€“ including window and technical cleaning, testing and platform hire â€“ to the retail, commercial property, events, healthcare and distribution markets.     BGF initially backed NSS – which was formed by a merger with another BGF portfolio company – in July 2016 with GBP3.3 million to support its national roll-out and acquisition strategy. GI Partners and Summit Partners-backed Patriot Growth Insurance Services (Patriot) has added several key partners to its Florida operations, including Kolisch Marine, Depace Insurance, MacLeish Insurance, Focus Insurance Agency, Herndon Carr & Company, and Crosslet Insurance Services. These six partnerships will work within Patriot’s Shapiro Insurance Group (SIG) platform, and significantly expand Patriot’s expertise and capabilities throughout the Southeast region.
Hunter Point Capital (HPC), an investment firm focused on taking minority stakes in middle-market alternative asset managers, has made a strategic investment in Iron Park Capital (IPC), a global alternative investment manager with experience investing across public and private credit markets. All proceeds of the investment will go to IPC’s balance sheet. IPC’s investment process, management and day-to-day operations will remain unchanged. Terms of the investment have not been disclosed. IPC was established in 2019 to offer credit solutions designed to meet the needs of institutional investors and borrowers. IPC focuses on creating long-term strategic partnerships with institutional investors globally.
Symbridge Holdings, a digital asset exchange built specifically for future-minded traders, has secured a USD9 million strategic investment from newcomer investor Traxys North America (Traxys), a physical commodity trader and merchant in the metals sector. One of the world’s biggest commodity traders, Traxys, is diversifying into new trading markets with its investment in Symbridge. The partnership will also support Symbridge in meeting increasing investor demand for digital representation of physical commodities.
Assent Compliance Inc. (Assent), a leader in supply chain sustainability management, announced today that it has raised USD350 million in a funding round led by Vista Equity Partners (Vista), a global investment firm focused exclusively on enterprise software, data and technology-enabled businesses. This is one of the largest raises in Canadian software company history and establishes Assent in unicorn status, valued at more than USD1 billion. Vista’s Foundation Fund, which invests in middle-market companies seeking to scale and accelerate their growth trajectory, led the investment.
