Stockholm-based Digital Therapeutics (DTx) company Alex Therapeutics today announces it has secured EUR3.5 million in a funding round led by European life science venture fund Hadean Ventures and joined by Scale Capital and Bonit Capital. AmerisourceBergen, a healthcare solutions company, has launched AB Health Ventures, a dedicated corporate venture capital fund that will invest in and partner with emerging healthcare startup companies working to transform healthcare for people and animals globally. AB Health Ventures will build on AmerisourceBergen’s ongoing commitment to delivering innovation for its customers. AB Health Ventures will initially launch with USD150 million allocated for investment in early-to mid-stage health-related startups around the world. illumifin, a third-party insurance administration and technology provider, has completed its acquisition of LTCG to create one of the largest insurance service providers in the North American long-term care, life, health, and annuity markets. LTCG’s proprietary long-term care administration solutions and claims capabilities will be integrated with illumifin’s third-party administration and technology platform. This combination will deliver end-to-end digital capabilities driving value to insurance companies. illumifin was founded by Abry Partners, a Boston-based private equity firm, and Hoplon Capital, an asset manager focused on digital disruption, after the acquisition of Concentrix Corporation’s insurance third-party administration and software platform.
Lead Edge Capital (LEC), a technology-focused growth stage investment fund, has closed Fund VI, which was oversubscribed, with over USD1.95 billion of commitments from Lead Edge’s network of over 500 limited partners and institutions. LEC will target making equity investments of between USD15 million and USD200 million per portfolio company from Fund VI and continue its focus on investing primarily in private companies, with a flexible mandate that also enables public company investments. Postclick, the company behind the Advertising Conversion Cloud, has raised USD20 million in a funding round led by Bridge Bank’s Technology Banking Group. Postclick will use the funding to support the company’s evolution from an agency model to a full technology-led SaaS solution that will continually develop new innovations as an advanced partner to the marketing industry. The funds will also advance Postclick’s machine learning and artificial intelligence offerings, as well as deepen the company’s penetration into vertical markets.
Global alternative investment manager Ares Management Corporation (Ares), has launched the Ares Private Markets Fund, a new registered, continuously offered, non-traded, closed-end fund that intends to invest in an actively managed portfolio of private equity and other private assets principally through secondary market fund investments, and, to a lesser degree, primary fund investments and direct co-investments. Global investment firm Carlyle has made the final close of its second Carlyle Credit Opportunities Fund (CCOF II) which raised USD4.6 billion, hitting its hard cap, exceeding its USD3.5 billion target, and attracting almost double the amount raised for its predecessor fund. Border to Coast Pensions Partnership (Border to Coast) has launched its second Private Markets programme (Series 2) with GBP4 billion of commitments from its Partner Funds, bringing total commitments in the programme to date to GBP10 billion. The first tranche of Series 2 commitments will be invested over the next year in infrastructure (GBP1.03 billionn), private equity (GBP705 million), and in private credit (GBP985 million).  It also includes a GBP1.35 billion Climate Opportunities offering. Applied Composites Holdings, LLC (Applied Composites), an aerospace, space and defense composites supplier, has acquired The Companies of North Coast, LLC (North Coast or the Company), a manufacturer of Resin Transfer Molded (RTM) composite structures and tooling, from Unitech Holdings, Inc (Unitech). Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. This marks the sixth acquisition by the Applied Composites platform created by AE Industrial Partners, LP (AEI), a private equity firm specialising in aerospace, defense & government services, space, power & utility services, and specialty industrial markets.
